Applying roof coating systems is where our company started over 40 years ago. In 1978, when we started, we had to convince building owners that applying something “white” on their roofs was better than the old tar roof that had been the norm. In todays roofing industry, “white” colored roofing material makes up the vast majority of materials being applied. At Coontz Roofing, we apply acrylic elastomeric and Silicone roof coating systems depending on the roof surface and type of warranty the customer desires. Acrylic warranties can be up to 10 years while Silicone roof warranties can range from 10, 15 and 20 years depending on the application and substrate. Silicone roof coating has an advantage over acrylic as it does not deteriorate by water setting on it and it is UV resistant and does not chalk away.
